Slovenian cyclist Primoz Roglic has officially signed with Bora-hansgrohe, marking a significant change from his previous team, Jumbo-Visma. Roglic expressed his excitement about the move, highlighting the team's motivation to work with him and their shared ideas. Team manager Ralph Denk emphasized Roglic's potential and leadership qualities, stating their aim to make an impact on major races together.
Roglic had a successful eight-year stint with Jumbo-Visma, winning four Grand Tours during his tenure. His move to Bora-hansgrohe positions him as a key rider for the team in upcoming races, including a potential appearance at the Tour de France, which is missing from his list of Grand Tour victories. The team also boasts riders like Giro d'Italia winner Jai Hindley, Cian Uijtdebroeks, and Alexander Vlasov.
The signing of Roglic comes amidst speculation about a merger between Jumbo-Visma and Soudal Quick-Step, with discussions reportedly underway for a potential merger as early as next year. However, Roglic's focus remains on his new journey with Bora-hansgrohe, where he aims to contribute to their success and achieve his own goals as a cyclist.
