He stated that the Federation needed more sponsors to enhance the development of volleyball and beach volleyball in the country.
The president mentioned that the Federation had deliberated on activities lined up for 2025 at the Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Nimrod highlighted that the major problem affecting the development of the sport in the country was the lack of sponsors.
He commended the Comptroller General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, for sponsoring the 2024 Volleyball Premier League.
“We want non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to come and support our activities in 2025. We have been writing to private companies for support every year.
“We also call on philanthropists, wealthy individuals, and lovers of sports to support our 2025 beach volleyball and volleyball activities,” he said.
Nimrod noted that the just-concluded 2024 Volleyball League saw the first instance of two games being played simultaneously at the indoor hall.
“Nobody believed that we could play competitive games on double courts; the court was divided into two, one part for the male teams and the second for the female teams.
“The atmosphere during the two final matches (male and female) was overwhelming; the hall was filled with spectators.”
The Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB) recently appointed Nimrod as the President of the CAVB Beach Volleyball Commission in Casablanca, Morocco.
