Nigeria, on Friday, defeated Cameroon 33-25 to win the President's Cup and finished ninth at the Africa Men's Handball Nations Cup in Egypt.
The Golden Arrows, under the tutelage of Coach Rafiu Salami, started the match well and won the first half 15-12 despite facing some resistance from Cameroon.
The second half was even better, with the Golden Arrows playing perhaps their best game in the Nations Cup. Players such as Faruk Yusuf, Hakeem Salami, Daniel Bello, as well as Obinna Anih, seized their opportunities to score crucial goals, leading Nigeria to a rewarding 33-25 victory over Cameroon.
Right back Farouk Yusuf was rightfully named the most valuable player of the match as Nigeria won the President's Trophy.
Thus, Nigeria finished as the 9th best team in the Nations Cup. They played six matches, winning four and losing two.
