Nigeria’s U19 Women’s Cricket team has defeated Malawi by 86 runs to finish top of Group B in the ongoing Africa U19 World Cup qualifiers in Rwanda.
The win for Nigeria makes it three victories in three games and sets up a mouth-watering semifinal clash with Rwanda, who finished second in Group A.

In the game played at the Gahanga B Cricket Oval, Nigeria won the toss and opted to bat first.
Opening batter Victory Igbinedion scored 66 runs off 72 balls, with Promise Eguakun contributing 27 runs off 20 balls, helping Nigeria reach a total score of 147 runs for the loss of four wickets.
In defense of their score, Nigeria limited the East Africans to 61 runs all out in 18.1 overs, securing an 86-run victory.
A total of eight teams are currently participating in the tournament, with only the top team earning a ticket to the World Cup in Malaysia in 2025.
