Spaniard Nacho Elvira secured a narrow one-shot victory on the final day of the Antwerp tournament on Sunday, earning his second DP World Tour title. Elvira began the final round with a four-shot lead but faced tense moments as his Danish competitor Niklas Norgaard narrowly missed a crucial birdie putt on the 18th green, which would have led to a playoff.
Reflecting on his win, the 37-year-old Elvira expressed his happiness and emotional satisfaction, acknowledging the hard work that often goes unseen. He shot impressive rounds of 64 on the first two days, followed by a 67 on the third, placing him in a strong position heading into the final day at the Rinkven International Golf Club.
Elvira's steady final round of 71 secured his victory at 18 under, with Norgaard, Frenchman Romain Langasque, and local favorite Thomas Pieters finishing just one shot behind at 17 under. This triumph marks Elvira's second European tour win, following his 2021 Welsh Open victory, and highlights his perseverance and skill in the competitive golf arena.
