Minjee Lee secured victory at the Kroger Queen City Championship by triumphing in a playoff against England's Charley Hull. Lee wrapped up the final round with a 71, while Hull carded a 69, resulting in both players finishing at 16-under 272, necessitating extra holes.
During the playoff, they revisited the par-four 18th hole. Lee's approach shot landed a mere three feet from the cup, allowing her to tap in for a birdie. Meanwhile, Hull missed her birdie putt and settled for par. This win marked Minjee Lee's first LPGA title since the 2022 US Women's Open.
Lee began the final round at Kenwood Country Club in Cincinnati with a two-stroke lead and continued to perform well, reaching 18 under after birdies on the second, seventh, and eighth holes. However, a double bogey on the par-five 12th opened the door for Hull, who managed to catch up with three consecutive birdies at holes 14 to 16.
Reflecting on her performance, Lee mentioned, "I think I had a few moments where I was like, I really felt like I was losing, but I wasn't. We were pretty much tied. I was like, 'Let's just play till the end and see where it ends up.' So I didn't give up; I just played every shot to the best I could."
China's Yin Ruoning finished third at 14 under after posting a 67, and defending champion Ally Ewing secured fourth place. Additionally, England's Mel Reid found herself in a six-way tie for fifth at 11 under.
