Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team has announced the signing of Dutch cyclist Milan Vader on a two-year contract that extends through 2026. Known for his impressive versatility and talent, Vader has quickly risen in the cycling world, making significant strides in both mountain biking and road cycling. At 28 years old, he brings a wealth of experience and a strong competitive spirit to the team, enhancing their prospects for future success.
Vader first gained recognition as a top-tier cross-country mountain biker, clinching the Cross Country Elite National Dutch Champion title twice and achieving multiple podium finishes in World Cup events. His performance at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics further showcased his capabilities, establishing him as a formidable contender. Transitioning to road cycling in 2021, he maintained his momentum and particularly excelled in climbing races, highlighting his well-rounded skills.
Having spent his first three seasons in road cycling with a WorldTour team, Vader is enthusiastic about continuing his growth with Q36.5. Expressing his excitement about the move, he noted the team's forward momentum and professional environment. “I’m really motivated to join Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team. I believe I will get more opportunities and more freedom to achieve what I really want: win races,” he stated, emphasizing his explosive sprint and potential in races with uphill finishes.
Vader's journey has not been without its challenges. In 2022, he suffered a life-threatening crash, but his remarkable recovery has been inspirational, culminating in a general classification victory at last year’s Tour of Guangxi. Doug Ryder, General Manager of Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team, praised Vader's resilience and skills, stating, "His explosive climbing skills will be a key asset to our team," and expressed excitement about the potential of their collaboration in the coming years.
