LPGA Tour: Georgia Hall of England Maintains a One-shot Deficit at the LOTTE Championship
Posted : 19 April 2023
After the third round of the LOTTE Championship in Hawaii, England's Georgia Hall remained one shot behind the leader Yu Jin Sung.
Linnea Strom and Grace Kim, a rookie on the tour, are level for second place with Hall at eight under for the competition after both carded one-under rounds of 71 at the windy Hoakalei Country Club. On the leaderboard, thirteen players are within three strokes of Sung.
Hall said following her round: "I've just got to stay patient out there.
"My mentality on the golf course is my strongest part of me as a player, my strongest part of my game. I just want to keep that going."
After sharing the lead after the first two rounds, Thailand's Natthakritta Vongtaveelap shot a 73 to share for fifth place with Lauren Hartlage, Christina Kim, and Nasa Hataoka at seven under.
The highest-ranked player in the competition, Brooke Henderson, is rated No. 7, but her round of 69, which included two back-nine bogeys, puts her three shots down at six under.
Five of the Canadian's opening seven holes were birdies. She has won both the 2018 and 2019 championships, making her the only multiple victor in the competition's history.
Along with Henderson, Bailey Tardy, Celine Boutier, Peiyun Chien, and Siyun Liu are grouped at six under.
Hyo Joo Kim, the defending winner, finished her round one over par after shooting a 71 after a second-round 78.
The Chevron Championship, the first women's major championship of the year, is next week in Texas.
