To defeat Branden Grace and Cameron Smith and win the first LIV Golf Tulsa championship, Dustin Johnson birdied the opening hole of the play-off.
Johnson secured his second LIV victory of his career after putting from the edge of the 18th green at Cedar Ridge Country Club.
The American joined Grace and Smith at the top of the leaderboard on 17 under after previously recovering from a triple bogey at the par-four 10th hole to shoot a 67.
He said: "The game is in really good shape"
Johnson held a two-shot advantage heading into the final round, but Grace of South Africa fired a bogey-free, five-under 65 to tie him for the lead.
As Americans Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau shared for fourth place at 12 under, Spanishman Eugenio Chacarra finished third on 13 under thanks to two eagles in his final round of 61.
Now, focus shifts to the US PGA Championship, the second major of the year, which gets underway on Thursday at Oak Hill in Rochester, New York.
