The reigning African Champion, Nigeria's Anuoluwa Opeyori, is set to face off against Brazil's Jonathan Matias in the quarterfinals of the ongoing Lagos International Badminton Classics. Opeyori, brimming with confidence, expressed his determination to advance to the semi-finals of the 6th Lagos Badminton Classics, taking place at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos.
In a recent match, Opeyori secured victory by defeating UAE's Somi Romdhani with scores of 21-19, 21-16 on court four. He eagerly anticipates his upcoming match against the Brazilian opponent and aspires to clinch the international classics title while maintaining his focus on qualifying for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
As the top-ranked African player, Opeyori holds high hopes for his Olympic representation, aiming to surpass his previous performance at the Japan Olympics. The 6th Lagos Badminton Classics, which commenced on August 30th, is set to conclude on August 2nd, 2023.
