US captain Jim Furyk has enlisted Stewart Cink, Justin Leonard, and Kevin Kisner as his assistants for the 2024 Presidents Cup set to take place in Montreal this September. Emphasizing their invaluable experience and leadership qualities, Furyk expressed confidence in their contributions to the team's success both on and off the course as they prepare for the biennial showdown against the International Team.
Scheduled for September 24-29, the Presidents Cup marks the 15th edition of the competition between the US and the International Team (excluding Europe). With the US boasting a dominant record, having won 12 of the previous 14 editions, Furyk and his team are gearing up to defend their title at the Royal Montreal Golf Club, where they last emerged victorious in 2007.
Each assistant brings a wealth of experience to the table, with Cink, Leonard, and Kisner all renowned for their contributions to the sport. While Cink and Leonard are making their debut as captain's assistants, Kisner, who has represented the US Team twice before, expressed eagerness to lend his expertise to the team room. As they embark on their roles, the trio aims to support Furyk in shaping a formidable 12-man US Team poised to compete fiercely in Montreal.
As anticipation builds for the event, the selection of assistants marks the beginning of the team-building process, with Furyk set to announce the 12 players later this fall. Six players will secure automatic qualification based on FedEx Cup points, while Furyk and his staff will handpick the remaining six, ensuring a balanced and competitive lineup ready to uphold the US Team's legacy at the Presidents Cup.
