Nigeria's Women U-18 Handball team, under Coach Adewunmi Agboola Shittu, has unveiled the final list of players who will represent the country at the 10th IHF Women's Under-18 Handball Championship in China.
The team departed from Muritala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on Monday aboard Egypt Air and is expected to arrive in Chuzhou, China, for the competition on Tuesday.
Captain Esther Mathew and the Babatunde twins have earned their places alongside the Samuel sisters, while only one of the Muhammad sisters made the final list. Left back Amarachi Oparaugo and pivot Damilola Akinlade are also included.
Nigeria will begin their World Cup campaign against Croatia on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Nigerian time. They will also play Montenegro the following day at 2 p.m. and face continental rival Angola at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
