Scottish golfer Ewen Ferguson clinched his third European Tour title with a two-shot victory at the BMW International Open on Sunday. The world number 168 finished with a four-under-par 68, outpacing runners-up Jordan Smith and David Micheluzzi.
Starting the day tied for the lead with Smith, Ferguson made five birdies and a bogey in his first 14 holes, maintaining his composure with four consecutive pars to secure his win. His victory also earned him a spot at the British Open later this month at Royal Troon.
"I honestly can't believe it," Ferguson remarked. "The last four holes felt like a dream. I was hitting it so well and much further than usual... The (Open) exemption is such a weight off my shoulders, and I'm so happy."
Meanwhile, LIV Golf star Patrick Reed, who began the day just two shots behind the leaders, struggled with a one-over-par 73, finishing in a tie for 13th. The former Masters champion continues to seek his first professional win since January 2021.
