England initially appeared to be on an easy path to victory in their Rugby World Cup quarter-final clash with Fiji in Marseille, holding a 15-3 lead midway through the first half.

However, Steve Borthwick's team had to work hard to secure a 30-24 win. Borthwick expressed his delight with both the final result and the team's resilience when faced with challenges. Captain Owen Farrell was equally impressed by the team's performance, despite the tough battle they faced.

The victory over Fiji in the Rugby World Cup quarter-final turned out to be a much greater challenge than it first seemed, with Fiji making a strong comeback, leveling the score at 24-24 late in the game before England eventually secured a 30-24 win.

Coach Steve Borthwick commended his players for their resilience and hard work that led to the victory, emphasizing the effort put in by the entire squad.

Borthwick also addressed the skepticism surrounding his team's prospects before the tournament, highlighting the determination of the players to rise to the occasion. Captain Owen Farrell echoed his coach's sentiments, acknowledging the toughness of the match and the need for continuous improvement.

Despite the challenges, England's victory earned them a spot in the semi-finals, where they will face either South Africa or France, with the aim of reaching their fifth final and breaking a record shared with New Zealand and Australia.
