Makhlouif expressed Egypt's aspiration to represent Nigeria at the U17 World Championship and pledged to go all out against Cameroon in the next match. He articulated, "We want to represent Africa at the U17 World Championship, and we are in Nigeria to achieve that purpose. We are going to win our next match against Cameroon; we just have to encourage the girls to put more effort into their next game."
In a recap, Egypt secured a 3-0 victory (26-24, 25-18, 25-15) over Nigeria in the opening game of the 2023 Girl's U-17 African Nations Volleyball Championship at the Indoor Sports Hall of Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja.
The Nigeria U-17 Girl's team initially led 24-23 points in the first set, but Egypt leveled at 24-24, secured the next two points, and won the set 26-24. The Egyptian team dominated the second and third sets, clinching victories of 25-18 and 25-15 points, respectively.
Following the encounter, Head Coach of Nigeria U17 Girl's, Sunday Akapson, lamented his players' lack of concentration during a crucial period in the first set. He expressed the need to re-strategize and plan for the next game against Cameroon on Monday, emphasizing that the young players, being built for future purposes, would give their best in the upcoming match.
