The Philadelphia Eagles have advanced to the Super Bowl for the sixth time in their history, defeating the Washington Commanders 55-23. The Eagles had previously reached the Super Bowl in 2022, where they lost to the Kansas City Chiefs. This year, the Chiefs also secured their place in the finals, defeating the Buffalo Bills 32-29.
The Eagles' victory was driven by MVP candidate Shaquen Brackley, who opened the scoring with a 60-yard touchdown run, and Jalen Hurts, who added two more touchdowns to extend the lead. Despite a strong effort from the Commanders, the Eagles' defense held firm, and Washington’s playoff run ended.
In the other divisional final, the Buffalo Bills gave the Chiefs a tough challenge, but Patrick Mahomes led Kansas City to a victory. The Chiefs were ahead for most of the game, but the Bills surged into a 21-22 lead in the third quarter.
Mahomes responded with a touchdown, and although Buffalo briefly tied the game at 29-29, a field goal by Harrison Butker sealed the Chiefs' win. This marks the Chiefs' 17th consecutive victory in one-score games, setting an NFL record. The Chiefs now aim to win their third consecutive Super Bowl title, a feat never before achieved in the Super Bowl era, as they prepare for their fifth appearance in the last six finals.
