The Kwara State flag continues to soar high at the ongoing National Under-12 and Under-15 Handball Championship in Umuahia, Abia State.
The tournament, which commenced on March 18 and will conclude on March 28, has brought together top teams from across Nigeria, all competing for national glory.
In a remarkable display of talent and resilience, the C&S FP Sports Under-12 boys’ team has secured a place in the final, with the match scheduled for March 27.
Their journey to the championship round has been nothing short of impressive, as they emerged from one of the tournament’s most challenging groups, which included host state Abia, Sokoto, and Ikom Academy.
C&S FP Sports U-12 began their campaign with a hard-fought 23-21 victory over Ikom before narrowly falling to the more experienced Sokoto team by a single goal, 15-16.
However, they bounced back in emphatic fashion, overpowering Abia in front of a packed home crowd with a commanding 26-20 win.
The team’s dominance continued in the knockout stages, where they triumphed over Plateau State in the quarterfinals and secured a semifinal victory against Adamawa State, earning their place in the much-anticipated final.
Now fully prepared for the ultimate showdown, the C&S FP Sports Academy U12 boys will once again face Sokoto on Thursday, March 27, in their quest for the championship title. With gold within reach, the team is determined to make history.
