Brooks Koepka secured a victory at the LIV Jeddah tournament by beating Talor Gooch in a playoff. Koepka finished with a two-under 68, reaching 14 under par after three rounds at the Royal Greens course in Saudi Arabia.
Despite Gooch's impressive 62 that temporarily tied the lead, Koepka won the playoff with a birdie on the second extra hole. While Koepka earned £3.3 million for the tournament victory, Gooch, the season's overall champion, received a substantial £14.8 million prize.
Koepka, who finished third in the overall standings, also earned the same amount for his season performance. Cameron Smith, the 2022 Open champion from Australia, secured second place in the season's standings. The LIV Golf season will conclude with the Team Championship in Miami from October 20 to 22.
In a dramatic finish, Arsenal secured a 2-1 victory over Aston Villa with two injury-time goals. Beth Mead, who made her return after an 11-month absence due to a knee injury, assisted in the winning goal scored by Alessia Russo.
The Emirates Stadium witnessed scenes of celebration as Arsenal's Katie McCabe scored a crucial goal in the 92nd minute, setting the stage for the incredible finish. Aston Villa had initially taken the lead in the first half, against the run of play, with a header from Maz Pacheco off Lucy Staniforth's excellent corner in the 25th minute.
However, Villa couldn't hold on for their first win of the season in the frantic finale, with Stina Blackstenius hitting the post and having a shot cleared off the line for Arsenal.
