BMW Championship: Max Homa leads with eight-under par 62

In a brilliant performance during the second round of the BMW Championship, Max Homa showcased his prowess by scoring an impressive eight-under par 62, marked by a total of 10 birdies. Homa's exceptional round included an astounding six birdies within his final nine holes, coupled with only two dropped shots. This performance propelled him to an overall score of 10 under, granting him a two-stroke lead over the competition.
 
Notably, Homa's remarkable round set a new course record at the Olympia Fields Country Club in Illinois, solidifying his standing as a formidable contender. Trailing behind him, fellow American Chris Kirk secured second place with a score of eight under, following his impressive round of 66.
 
England's Matt Fitzpatrick demonstrated his skill with a round of 67, placing him tied for third with Open champion Brian Harman, who achieved a second-round score of 68. Meanwhile, golfing icon Rory McIlroy carded a round of 70, bringing his overall score to five under par. Joining McIlroy are notable players such as American world number one Scottie Scheffler (69), Rickie Fowler (69), Harris English (67), and England's Justin Rose (65), all contributing to a competitive field as the championship progresses.
