Barbasol Championship Day 3: Lucas Glover leads with 10th consecutive round in 60s.
Posted : 15 July 2023
In the Barbasol Championship, Lucas Glover continued his impressive performance, recording his 10th consecutive round in the 60s with a 4-under 68 in the second round at Keene Trace. He maintained his lead at 13-under 131, with Adam Long, Vincent Norrman, and Daniel Brown trailing by two shots.
Glover's success can be attributed to his recent switch to a long putter, which he started using at the Rocket Mortgage Classic two weeks ago. Since then, he has consistently shot sub-70 rounds, finishing tied for fourth in Detroit and tied for sixth in the John Deere Classic.
Although his putting wasn't as sharp as in the first round, Glover managed to score three birdies and only one bogey in the second round, ending with birdies on the last two holes.
While Long and Norrman also performed well, each recording three birdies and two bogeys on the back nine, they made a strong comeback with four birdies and no bogeys on the front nine, shooting a 67.
Brown, an Englishman competing on the DP World Tour, shot a 68 and has a chance to earn a PGA TOUR card with a victory in this co-sanctioned event.
Meanwhile, four players, including Ryan Moore and DP World Tour players Jayden Schaper, Adrien Saddier, and Louis de Jager, were three shots behind the leader at 10-under.
