Aggressive start for Australia's openers as they face Pakistan in ICC CWC23

In the 18th game of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023, Australia faced off against Pakistan at Bengaluru's Chinnaswamy Stadium. Australia's openers began their innings aggressively, benefiting from some early errors by the Pakistan team.
Shaheen Afridi initiated the contest with a confident leg-before appeal against David Warner, but the review revealed an inside edge, saving Warner. Warner survived another scare when Usama Mir dropped a straightforward catch in the fifth over, allowing the openers to make a decent start on a favorable batting wicket.
The highlight of their performance during the initial Powerplay was Haris Rauf's opening over, where they scored 24 runs. Warner struck an impressive six deep into the stadium, while Mitchell Marsh ended the over with a trio of boundaries.
The introduction of spin had minimal impact as Warner and Marsh continued to find the gaps and capitalize on loose deliveries. Warner reached his fifty in the 13th over, followed by Marsh in the 15th. At the mid-innings stage, both had hit boundaries against all six Pakistan bowlers.
Babar Azam, Pakistan's captain, won the toss and elected to field. Pakistan made one change, with Usama Mir replacing Shadab Khan, while Australia retained the same XI from their previous match. Australia sought to build on their previous victory in Lucknow, while Pakistan aimed to return to winning form after a subpar performance in Ahmedabad, knowing that a loss could have significant consequences for their chances of reaching the knockout stages.
