No fewer than 2,000 participants are expected to converge on Benin for the 7th Edo Heritage Sports Festival and Carnival.
The convener of the event, Mrs. Omoyemwen Adeyinka-Afolabi, disclosed this in Benin.

According to her, the event is scheduled to hold from Nov. 26 to 30 at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin.
Adeyinka-Afolabi said that the festival would feature a cultural carnival, a spelling bee competition, and a five-a-side football contest.
She noted that other events include chess tournaments, athletics, and beauty pageantry, among others.
She said that the annual event aims to promote and facilitate intercultural dialogue and tolerance among the people of the state, with a focus on multicultural areas.
“The Edo Heritage Sports Festival and Carnival is a unique event that showcases the strength and beauty of the Edo people."
“The five-day event will feature a wide range of activities, including sports competitions, cultural displays, and traditional performances."
“The festival will be streamed live to ensure maximum engagement,” Adeyinka-Afolabi explained.
The convener expressed optimism that the festival would provide a platform for people from different cultural backgrounds to come together, promote unity, and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of the state.
