Nour Mohammed, an Egyptian multiple gold medalist and student at the American University in Cairo (AUC), openly displayed her love for the popular Nigerian music genre, Afrobeats, on Friday.
Mohammed danced dexterously to an Afrobeats rave song played by the DJ at the swimming event of the ongoing 11th All African University Games (FASU Games) in Lagos.

Her dance steps drew the attention and admiration of her fellow swimmers, who took turns capturing her moves with their phones.
She won four gold medals and two silver medals at the swimming event held at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) swimming pool.
In a chat, the swimmer said she was a die-hard fan of Nigerian Afrobeats, adding that she was excited to listen to more of the music.
“I listen to Nigerian music a lot because I love their Afrobeats. Whenever I listen to Nigerian music, especially the new songs, I go crazy.
“I even try to sing some of the songs, although I don’t have any favorites. I listen to all of them because they are good.
“Whenever I hear Afrobeats music, my body starts to move, so I dance. I dance a lot, aside from swimming.
“I am satisfied with my performance so far, and I still expect to add more medals to my six medals,” she said.
Mohammed added, “It’s a pleasure coming to Nigeria where I can enjoy more of Afrobeats,” she said.
