Visa Cash App RB strengthens technical team with key hires for Formula One campaign

Red Bull's Formula One team, now known as Visa Cash App RB, has made significant technical additions with the hiring of three top talents.

 

The team announced the recruitment of former Alpine sporting director Alan Permane as racing director, ex-FIA technical director Tim Goss as chief technical officer (starting in October), and Guillaume Cattelani from Red Bull Technology as deputy technical director focusing on aerodynamics and vehicle performance.

 

Permane, a veteran in the F1 industry, will report to the new team principal, Laurent Mekies, who took over from Franz Tost. The team aims to strengthen its technical capabilities for improved car design and on-track performance.

 

These strategic hires are part of a broader plan to enhance the team's structure and competitiveness. The move is seen as crucial for Visa Cash App RB's ambitions to elevate its standing in the Formula One grid. Last season, the team finished in eighth place among the 10 participating teams.

 

The appointments of Guillaume and Alan are expected to bolster the team's capabilities in car design, development, and on-track performance. The addition of Tim Goss in October is anticipated to provide further structural strength, ensuring long-term success for the team.

 

The team's focus on aerodynamics and vehicle dynamics, led by Guillaume Cattelani, is viewed as a key aspect of refining the current car and adding capabilities for future developments.

 

With these hires, Visa Cash App RB aims to establish a robust structure that aligns with Red Bull's long-term vision, fostering a closer partnership between the teams while adhering to regulatory constraints.
