Oscar Piastri Focuses on Las Vegas Win

Australian driver Oscar Piastri is now focused on securing a victory at the Las Vegas Grand Prix, with McLaren teammate Lando Norris's Formula One title hopes fading. Norris, who was once the main challenger to Max Verstappen’s dominance, is now unlikely to challenge for the title after Verstappen secured another strong lead. With three rounds remaining, the focus for McLaren has shifted to the Constructors' Championship, where they are currently ahead of Ferrari by 36 points.

 

While Piastri acknowledges that there are still specific situations where he may need to assist Norris, he emphasized that the majority of his efforts will now be directed toward securing individual wins. With the Drivers' Championship no longer a primary target for McLaren, Piastri expressed his determination to race for victory at every opportunity. He remains optimistic about the team's chances in the Constructors' standings, even as the season heads into its final stages.

 

Piastri has already achieved two wins this season, one in Hungary and another in Azerbaijan, which has helped solidify his position within the team. The 22-year-old is now eager to build on these successes and make the most of the remaining races. His strategy is clear: focus on winning whenever possible while remaining ready to support the team in critical moments.

 

Norris, on the other hand, stressed that despite the shift in focus, the team’s unity remains strong. He reiterated that the team’s goals always take precedence, with both drivers working to support each other’s success. Norris has helped Piastri in the past, such as during his victory in Baku, and reassured that this collaborative approach would continue as McLaren seeks to finish the season on a high note.
