MotoGP leader Jorge Martin contemplates departure from Pramac Racing amid Ducati allegiance

Jorge Martin, currently leading the MotoGP championship, hinted at the possibility of departing from Pramac Racing, expressing a stronger allegiance to Ducati, the manufacturer, than to the team itself. Despite finishing as the runner-up last season in a fierce rivalry with eventual champion Francesco Bagnaia, Martin's loyalty seems to lean more towards the brand that powers his bike.

 

Following his recent victory at the Portuguese Grand Prix, Martin's dominance places him atop the rider's standings with 60 points. His potential departure from Pramac Racing would reverberate strongly within the Italian team, particularly as they contemplate transitioning from Ducati to Yamaha machinery for the 2025 season.

 

When questioned about his stance on remaining with Pramac in the event of a switch to Yamaha's YZR-M1 bikes, Martin conveyed his deeper connection to Ducati, a sentiment that has persisted throughout his MotoGP career. Anticipating a potential move to a factory team, Martin's remarks suggest a readiness to explore alternative options, implying that even if Pramac were to undergo changes, his future might lie elsewhere.
