The dramatic event unfolded on turn two of the opening lap at the Sepang circuit, involving Miller, his teammate Brad Binder, and Yamaha's Fabio Quartararo. The crash resulted in all three riders losing control, with Miller's head making contact with the back of Quartararo's bike, raising concerns about his safety.

Following the crash, the 29-year-old Australian received on-track treatment before being transported to the medical center for further evaluation. Fortunately, he was cleared of any serious injuries, allowing him to return to the paddock.

As the penultimate race of the season concluded, Italian world champion Francesco Bagnaia claimed victory, putting pressure on his Spanish title rival, Jorge Martin, who now leads the championship by 24 points. The season finale, initially set to take place in Valencia, was canceled following severe flooding in the area, leading to discussions about moving the event to Barcelona's Circuit de Catalunya, where Martin could secure his first world title with a win.
