Posted : 19 June 2023
Max Verstappen has joined an elite group of Formula 1 drivers, with only Alain Prost, Sebastian Vettel, Michael Schumacher, and Lewis Hamilton ahead of him in terms of race wins.
Verstappen achieved his 41st victory at the Canadian Grand Prix, equalling the career total of the legendary Ayrton Senna. This milestone win also marked the 100th victory for the Red Bull team.
During the race, Verstappen showcased his dominance by securing a comfortable 9.5-second lead over his competitors. Despite his commanding performance, he could have extended his lead even further if necessary.
The achievement of matching Senna's career wins at the age of 25 highlights Verstappen's remarkable talent and the dominant form of the Red Bull team in recent seasons.
With his current momentum, Verstappen's career statistics hold promise for further success. He has a realistic chance of surpassing the victory records set by Prost (51 wins) and even Vettel (54 wins) in the current season, depending on his continued dominance in the sport.
Verstappen's impressive pole position in wet conditions, his faultless start, and his ability to control the race from the front showcased his exceptional skills and secured him another well-deserved victory.
