Max Verstappen has stated that he is not contemplating his future in Formula One beyond the current season with Red Bull Racing. As a three-time world champion and the current points leader, Verstappen reportedly has exit clauses in his contract that could allow him to switch teams in 2026, two years prior to its expiration. However, he emphasized that his focus is firmly on the present and the challenges he faces with his current team.
In a recent interview with Motorsport, Verstappen acknowledged the possibility of leaving Red Bull but stressed that it is not something he is actively considering. "I have enough to worry about with other things we want to do better," he remarked, indicating his commitment to improving performance rather than dwelling on future uncertainties. He added that if a move doesn’t happen, it won’t significantly impact his life.
The 27-year-old driver has enjoyed success this season, securing seven wins; however, his last victory was at the Spanish Grand Prix on June 23. The Formula One circuit will resume this weekend at the United States Grand Prix in Austin, Texas, following a month-long break, leading into a busy schedule with six races in the final eight weeks of the season.
Despite Verstappen's strong start to the season, the championship race has tightened, particularly with McLaren's Lando Norris significantly reducing his points deficit. From an 84-point gap six races ago, Norris has closed it to 52 points, creating an exciting dynamic as the season approaches its conclusion. As the action resumes at Austin, McLaren aims to maintain its lead in the Constructors' Championship, challenging both Red Bull and Ferrari for the title.
