Marc Marquez secured pole position for both the Aragon MotoGP sprint race and the main Grand Prix on Saturday, showcasing his exceptional skills at the circuit where he has previously claimed victory five times. Marquez set a new track record on the recently resurfaced circuit during practice and continued his impressive form by clocking a best lap of 1 minute 46.766 seconds, the only rider to break the 1:47 barrier.
The Spaniard, competing for the Ducati satellite team Gresini, was 0.84 seconds faster than Pedro Acosta of GasGas, who qualified second. World championship leader Francesco Bagnaia, riding for the factory Ducati team, was just 0.002 seconds behind Acosta, securing third place on the grid.
Jorge Martin experienced a setback early in the session when he crashed his Ducati-Pramac, but he quickly returned to the track after changing bikes and finishing fourth. Despite the crash, Martin's determination allowed him to recover and achieve a strong qualifying result.
Heading into the 12th round of the season, Bagnaia holds a slim five-point lead over Martin in the riders' standings.
