Lewis Hamilton disqualified from US Grand Prix, Max Verstappen claims victory

Lewis Hamilton's hopes of victory at the US Grand Prix were dashed when he was disqualified from second place after challenging Max Verstappen for the win.
Although Hamilton finished just two seconds behind Verstappen, his car was found to have excessive wear on the underfloor skid blocks, leading to his disqualification.
The same fate befell Ferrari's Charles Leclerc, who had initially finished sixth. As a result, McLaren's Lando Norris was promoted to second place, with Ferrari's Carlos Sainz taking third.
Max Verstappen secured his 50th career win in a measured race, steadily working his way through the field and then holding on for victory.
Hamilton's disqualification added a twist to the race, which had initially left him and Mercedes regretting a missed opportunity for victory had they employed a different strategy.
Skid blocks are designed to prevent cars from running too low, which can provide an aerodynamic advantage.
Mercedes had attempted a one-stop strategy, while Verstappen and Norris opted for a two-stop strategy. However, Mercedes' plan backfired, leading to Hamilton losing more time than the final gap between him and Verstappen.
Forced to switch to an off-set strategy, Hamilton managed to pass Norris in the closing laps to secure second place. The race highlighted the competitive dynamics of Formula 1, where strategy and tire management play a crucial role in determining the outcome.
