Leclerc Eager to Race Alongside Hamilton at Ferrari, Eyes Constructors' Title

Charles Leclerc is excited about the upcoming season with Lewis Hamilton joining Ferrari, describing it as "crazy" to have the seven-time world champion as a teammate. Leclerc expressed admiration for Hamilton's talent, noting that he is the most successful driver in Formula One history. The opportunity to race alongside Hamilton in the same team is a challenge Leclerc is eager to embrace, as he looks forward to learning from him while also proving his own capabilities.

 

With Leclerc's three wins and Carlos Sainz's two victories, Ferrari is heading into the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix with a slim chance of winning their first Constructors' Championship since 2008. Currently in second place, they trail McLaren by 21 points. Leclerc remains optimistic but acknowledges that the team will need a perfect performance and hope for McLaren to falter in order to secure the title.

 

Leclerc also praised the leadership of Ferrari’s team principal, Fred Vasseur, who has brought a calm and composed approach to the team. He believes Vasseur’s ability to maintain focus amid the pressures surrounding Ferrari has been crucial to their progress. Under Vasseur's guidance, Leclerc feels that Ferrari is in a strong position to fight for the championship.

 

Looking ahead to the future, Leclerc is confident that Ferrari will win a world title, citing the team's current momentum and the continued strengthening of their personnel. Additionally, Leclerc is excited about his upcoming collaboration with his younger brother, Arthur, in the free practice session at Abu Dhabi, fulfilling a childhood dream of racing together.
