Posted : 11 June 2023
Peter Hickman secured a historic victory in the Senior TT, marking his second consecutive four-time win and his 13th overall triumph in the Isle of Man competition.
Riding for FHO Racing BMW, Hickman took the lead right from the start and maintained his position throughout the six laps, while also setting a new lap record for the Senior race at an impressive speed of 135.507mph.
The 36-year-old crossed the finish line with a winning margin of 19.98 seconds over Dean Harrison, with Michael Dunlop finishing in third place.
Dunlop, who also won four races during the race week, now holds a total of 25 victories in his career.
In the Senior race on Saturday, Dunlop had the opportunity to equal his uncle Joey's record of 26 wins, but he will have to wait another year to attempt to reach or surpass that milestone.
Ian Hutchinson remains the sole rider to have won five individual races in a single week, a record he has held for 13 years.
Hickman's success in the Senior race marks his third victory in that particular event, having previously claimed the top spot in 2018 and as part of his quadruple win in 2022. He completed the race with a time of one hour, 42.29 seconds, surpassing the previous record by 39 seconds.
With his 13 wins, Hickman now surpasses Bruce Anstey in the list of all-time winners and is just one victory away from matching the impressive tally achieved by Mike Hailwood.
