Formula One is set to host a historic event on 18 February 2025, marking the launch of the season at London's O2 Arena to celebrate the sport's 75th anniversary. For the first time, the event will bring together all 20 drivers, the 10 teams, and special guests in a two-hour spectacle, with tickets going on sale on 15 November priced between £58 and £113. The launch will also feature live entertainment and be broadcast worldwide.
F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali expressed excitement over the unique event, emphasizing that it will be a special occasion for fans, offering them the chance to experience the official start of the new season. Traditionally, teams hold individual launches to unveil their new car designs, often with virtual or in-person events at their factories, but this event aims to unify the sport’s stars and fans in one location.
The 2025 season will bring significant changes, with the sport celebrating its long history while also embracing new developments. Ferrari, the only team to have participated in every season since the championship’s inception, will be introducing their new car with a notable twist: it will be the first season featuring seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, who joins the team from Mercedes.
Along with the driver switch-ups, the 2025 season will be the final one under the current engine regulations. Fans can also expect the debut of several new rookies, including Britain’s Oliver Bearman at Haas, Italy’s Kimi Antonelli at Mercedes, Australia’s Jack Doohan at Alpine, and Brazil’s Gabriel Bortoleto at Sauber. These changes are set to make the upcoming season one of the most exciting in recent memory.
