Christian Horner, the head of Red Bull, reiterates allegations that competitors contacted sponsors following a cost cap violation

Following their breach of the 2021 cost cap, competing Formula 1 teams contacted the sponsors of the defending constructors' champions. Red Bull CEO Christian Horner has now corrected his remarks.
There was uncertainty after a March interview with The I since various sources claimed that an unnamed competitor had attempted to poach Red Bull's sponsors.
This came after the team was fined in October of last year for breaking the spending cap rules during the 2021 season, which is when Max Verstappen won his first world title.
Red Bull was hit with a $7 million fine and had its development time restricted for a year after admitting to a "small" $2.2 million infraction.
"I think what you're referring to was a reference that several of our sponsors were contacted by one of our rival teams saying that we were perhaps bringing them into disrepute.
"So that was I think the comment that you were referring to."
Asked which team he believed had been in contact with Red Bull's sponsors, Horner added: "I'll let your imagination run away with you."
