Approximately 160,000 spectators filled Silverstone to witness Max Verstappen's commanding victory in the British Grand Prix, extending his winning streak to six races and equaling Red Bull's record of 11 consecutive triumphs.
Lando Norris of McLaren successfully fended off Lewis Hamilton's Mercedes in a late battle after a safety car period to secure second place, delivering a double home podium for the delighted fans.
Verstappen's eighth victory in ten races this season brought Red Bull on par with McLaren's iconic 1988 season featuring Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost. The team's success was further enhanced by Oscar Piastri, who finished fourth for McLaren, followed by George Russell in the Mercedes.
Once Verstappen regained the lead from Norris on lap five, he established an untouchable position at the front of the pack. The race gained excitement when a safety car was deployed due to Kevin Magnussen's Haas catching fire on the Wellington straight.
The divergent tire strategies in the final 14 laps introduced suspense and intrigue among the chasing pack. Although Norris and Piastri seemed set for a McLaren double podium, the safety car altered the dynamics of the race, allowing Hamilton an opportunity to surpass Piastri and briefly challenge Norris.
