Amidst ongoing management turmoil, Alpine has parted ways with veteran operations director Rob White, signaling further changes within the struggling French team. With a tenure spanning two decades at Alpine's parent company Renault in Formula 1, White served as director of operations at their Enstone factory since 2016 before being dismissed by team principal Bruno Famin, who conveyed the decision to the factory staff on Wednesday.
Highly regarded for his engineering expertise, White's career at Renault began in 2004 when he joined as deputy managing director of engines at their F1 facility in Viry-Chatillon, Paris. Prior to this role, he held a significant position as head of F1 engine operations at the renowned UK motorsport engine-builder, Cosworth. Despite his extensive contributions, Alpine's spokesperson confirmed White's departure as part of the team's broader operational restructuring, expressing gratitude for his dedication over the years.
Acknowledging White's pivotal role in leading the championship-winning engine project in 2005 and 2006, Alpine extends its appreciation for his longstanding service at both the Enstone and Viry-Chatillon facilities. While bidding farewell to White, the team wishes him success in his future endeavors, marking the end of an era amidst ongoing changes within the Alpine organization.
