After Canadian Grand Prix success, Ferrari's team manager Fred Vasseur thinks the squad is moving in the right path

Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz showcased strong races, using a different strategy to climb from their starting positions to finish fourth and fifth respectively.
Leclerc acknowledged the improved feeling with the car compared to earlier in the season but stressed the team's desire to fight for first place once again.
While Leclerc was pleased with the car's performance in Montreal, both he and Vasseur cautioned against drawing definitive conclusions due to the unique characteristics of the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.
The track's slow-speed corners and low-abrasion surface allowed Ferrari to exploit their car's strengths without exposing its weaknesses in higher-speed bends that could result in excessive tire usage.
Ferrari has been grappling with inconsistency and unpredictability in the car's handling, leading to crashes for both drivers this season. The team is actively working on design changes to address these issues. Leclerc and Vasseur agreed to wait until the next race in Austria to assess whether Ferrari has truly made significant progress.
Vasseur highlighted a positive point during the race, as Leclerc was able to match the pace of Fernando Alonso's Aston Martin in the final stint once slower cars were out of their way.
Vasseur pointed out the minimal difference in lap times between Leclerc and Alonso, indicating a positive improvement compared to previous races. However, he acknowledged that the dominance of race winner Max Verstappen could have impacted the pace of other competitors.
Ferrari remains cautiously optimistic about their performance, recognizing the need to continue their development and validate their progress in upcoming races.
