Yaya Toure recommends Sadio Mane for Liverpool, citing his potential and desire to play alongside him

Yaya Toure has revealed that during his time at Manchester City, he recommended the signing of Sadio Mane from Southampton. Mane, the Senegalese forward, had an impressive stint at Southampton from 2014 to 2016, scoring 21 goals in 67 Premier League appearances before joining Liverpool for a fee of £34 million. Toure expressed his admiration for Mane and his desire to play alongside him.
 
During his tenure at Manchester City from 2010 to 2018, Toure played a crucial role in the club's success, winning the Premier League title and the FA Cup. Speaking on Match of the Day Africa: Top 10, Toure shared his thoughts on Mane's abilities and his impact at Liverpool, where he played a vital role in securing the club's first Premier League title in the 2019-20 season and the 2019 Champions League victory under Jurgen Klopp.
 
Although Toure's recommendation did not result in City signing Mane, he acknowledged Klopp's keen eye in recognizing Mane's potential and bringing him to Liverpool. Toure expressed his appreciation for Mane as a player and admired his contributions on and off the field.
 
Mane, who scored 120 goals in 269 appearances for Liverpool, joined Bayern Munich in June 2022 for £35 million after achieving significant success at Anfield.

Toure commended Mane for his philanthropic efforts, including his donation of £41,000 to his national committee fighting against COVID-19 and his gesture of providing Liverpool shirts to locals in his hometown of Senegal during the 2018 Champions League final.
 
Toure highlighted Mane as a role model, emphasizing his humble nature and his commitment to giving back to his community. Despite media scrutiny and materialistic expectations, Mane prioritizes making a difference in his home country and values simplicity over lavish possessions. Toure praised Mane's character and considered him a significant example for others.
