The Super Eagles camp in Kigali is bubbling as 22 players have reported to camp just two days when the camp opened in Kigali.
As at press time, only one player, US based, Alhassan Yusuf has yet to arrive Nigeria’s camp in Kigali ahead of this Friday’s(21 March 2025) FIFA World Cup Qualifying match against Rwanda.
The arrival of ten players on Tuesday took the total number in camp to 22 in readiness for the Super Eagles’ first training session later this evening.
Captain William Troost Ekong, Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi and Valencia forward Sadiq Umar were the amongst the 9 players that hit camp today.
After the game against Rwanda’s Wasps on Friday, the Nigeria Super Eagles will play host to Brave Warriors of Zimbabwe on 25 March 2025 in Uyo Akwa Ibom State.
Nigeria occupy 5th place in the 6 team Group C of the qualifying series with three points from 4 games.
The Eagles need victories in this window to stand any chance of qualifying for the World Cup 2026 in USA, Mexico and Canada.
