Women's World Cup Co-Host Australia Urge FIFA To Refuse Saudi Tourist Agency as Primary Sponsor
Posted : 06 April 2023
Visit Saudi should not be allowed to sponsor the 2023 Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand Football Australia has said.
Because of the reports' worries about human rights violations and the condition of women in Saudi Arabia, the notion of Visit Saudi participating in the Women's World Cup has been roundly condemned.
FIFA has been questioned by both Football Australia and New Zealand, and as the matter has not yet been resolved, Football Australia CEO James Johnson has urged FIFA to drop any intentions to collaborate with Visit Saudi.
FIFA hasn't officially confirmed that Visit Saudi would be named as a tournament sponsor, but recent sources claim that the organization has been in contact with influential Saudi Arabians about a hefty cooperation arrangement for this year's World Cup.
Women's soccer players have criticized Visit Saudi's potential sponsorship, with American international Alex Morgan calling it "bizarre".
