Wikki Tourists FC upsets Lobi Stars in final season's rush

Wikki Tourists of Bauchi in spite of surprise 2-0 victory over Lobi Stars of Makurdi eventually got relegated along with Dakadda FC of Uyo in the Group B of the Abridged 2022/2023 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) final day rush.

Although it was a game that Lobi Stars care less about having already sealed unassailable 30 points to qualify for the Super 6 playoff expected to kick off in Lagos June 3.

Lobi Stars FC knowing that they are already on a safe passage to the Super 6 playoff played with more caution to allow their players fresh breath of air ahead of the expected tough duel during the playoff.

Lobi Stars are already on 30 points, four point clear off the third place team, Doma United who eventually did not make it to the Super 6 in spite of their bright start to the season.

However, the defeat retains Lobi Stars on 30 points behind the Group leaders Rivers United that earned 34 points due to their 1-1 draw against Rangers International FC.

Lobi Stars eventually has 30 points from 18 matches with 9 wins, three draws and six losses.

A win for Wikki Tourist of Bauchi on the other side gave them 19 points from 18 matches with five wins, four draws and nine losses.
