Sunshine Stars coach Kennedy Boboye has said that he and his team will be battle-ready when they visit Pantami Stadium once again, a place they had earlier visited and condemned the Doma United FC sister club, Gombe United, to relegation via a 2-0 win.
The Akure Gunners will once again travel to Pantami Stadium to tackle a disoriented Doma United FC, who were involved in a ghastly motor accident while traveling back home after their disastrous Match Day 35 against Heartland International FC of Owerri.
Boboye, not minding the predicament of the Savannah Tigers, said that their escape from relegation was paramount.
He expressed optimism that his team will survive relegation in the 2023/24 Nigeria Premier Football League after securing back-to-back wins, which moved them six places above the relegation zone.
The Owena Whales got the better of fellow relegation-threatened side, Akwa United, to boost their survival hopes with 46 points after a 2-0 win.
Boboye believes that they will keep rising with three games to go this season to escape the drop.
“We didn’t give up even with the result in the first half. The players kept pushing because we knew we needed the victory. The result has pushed us up on the ladder and we will continue to rise.
"Most times in every good team, the bench is your strength because when you have a good bench, you can make changes that will get you results like it did for us."
Sunshine Stars have nine more points to play for, and that will see them travel to Doma United before returning home to face Remo Stars in a derby, while their last game of the season is against Niger Tornadoes in Kaduna.
