2023/2024 NPFL Match Day 14: We're careless in approach against Abia Warriors, says Shooting Stars SC Coach, Ogunbote

Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan Head Coach, Gbenga Ogunbote, has attributed the defeat to Abia Warriors in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) to the carelessness of his side in managing a lead.


The Oluyole Warriors took the lead in the 39th minute as Anayo Ogbonna scored at the Umuahia Township Stadium before the hosts came back to secure the maximum points.


In his post-match reactions, Ogunbote noted that he would draw positives from the game and ensure that the team avoids repeating such mistakes in future matches.


"We were unable to manage the lead even though we conceded the first goal. We had the opportunity. All we need to do is take the positives.


"The positives are for me and the players. We have reviewed the game. It has been won and lost. We still have some things to discuss with our players so that such mistakes are not repeated in the next game."
