It might not seem easy because defending a trophy is much more difficult than winning it, as all other contestants will come fully prepared with the mindset to upset us, says coach Ladan Bosso.
"The level of preparation and time frame will definitely give us an edge over other countries."
The high-profile manager of Bayelsa United said the final team list includes players with World Cup experience and exposure at that level of preparation.
"Determination, commitment, and discipline remain indispensable as we all look forward to celebrating our first victory in the opening match."
He appreciated the NFF for the time allocated to the team for preparation this time around, adding that the pool of talent in the camp will definitely deliver.
Bosso strongly believes that the technical crew, led by Coach Ali Zubair, Caleb Esu, and Lukeman Ijaiya, should stay focused on victory in all the games and avoid distractions.
According to the President of the Nigeria Football Coaches Association, Ladan Bosso, the players must use this opportunity to make their families and country proud by following the instructions of their coaches. Bosso fervently prayed for the team’s success, hoping they qualify not only for the African Nations Cup but also for the U-20 World Cup in Chile.
The Flying Eagles U-20 squad will begin their campaign against Burkina Faso on Friday in the WAFU B AFCON qualifying tournament.
