Vinicius Junior: In support of Real Madrid star, Brazil and Spain plays friendly match

In support of Real Madrid striker Vinicius Junior and to promote an anti-racism campaign, Brazil and Spain are scheduled to play a friendly match at Santiago Bernabeu in March.
The announcement was made by Luis Rubiales, the president of the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), following his meeting with Ednaldo Rodrigues, his counterpart from the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF). Vinicius, a Brazilian international, has faced racist abuse during his appearances for Real Madrid in La Liga this season.
Rubiales emphasized that racist insults have no place in football, and Rodrigues stressed the need for stricter punishments from football authorities to combat racism. He highlighted that fines alone are not sufficient, and clubs should also be held accountable.
The CBF was the first federation to implement harsher penalties for racism, including point deductions in league standings, stadium closures, and lifetime expulsion of club members. Rodrigues called for a global campaign to eradicate this disgraceful issue from football.
Last month, Vinicius spoke out about the prevalence of racism in La Liga, stating that it is considered normal and that the league belongs to racists. His comments came after he was subjected to racist chants from the stands and subsequently sent off during Real Madrid's 1-0 defeat to Valencia.
Vinicius also criticized Javier Tebas, the president of La Liga, who told him to "inform himself properly." Tebas later apologized, clarifying that his tweet had been misinterpreted and expressing a commitment to eradicating racism from stadiums within a few months if given more authority by the league.
