Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has expressed his unwavering love for the club and called for unity among its fanbase. The Serie A club faced criticism for a TikTok video that appeared to mock Osimhen after he missed a penalty. However, they later stated that they did not intend to offend the 24-year-old.

After scoring in Napoli's 4-0 victory over Lecce, Osimhen reiterated his affection for the club on Instagram. He mentioned how coming to Naples in 2020 was a fantastic decision for him and emphasized the love and kindness he has received from the people of Naples.

Osimhen also highlighted the passion of Napoli's fans, which motivates him to give his all on the field. He expressed his unwavering pride in wearing the club's badge and acknowledged the support he has received from both Neapolitans and Nigerians.

The striker called for unity, respect, and understanding, emphasizing the need to spread these values. He concluded with "Forza Napoli Sempre," showing his continued commitment to the club.

Osimhen's agent had threatened legal action against Napoli for the controversial post, which has since been deleted. Despite the incident, Napoli's manager, Rudi Garcia, stated that he remains fully committed to the club.

Nigeria's Sports Minister, John Owan Enoh, mentioned that the Nigerian government is pursuing diplomatic avenues with Italy regarding the incident. He emphasized the government's dedication to protecting the welfare and respect of Nigerian athletes.

Osimhen, who joined Napoli in 2020 for a club-record fee, played a pivotal role in their Serie A title win last season, scoring 26 goals in 32 league appearances.
