In a heated match, the United States defeated Mexico 3-0 in the Concacaf Nations League semi-final, but the game was marred by several incidents.
Four players were sent off, including Mexico's Cesar Montes and Gerardo Arteaga, as well as the US duo Weston McKennie and Sergino Dest. Homophobic chants from the crowd led to a pause in the game.
Chelsea's Christian Pulisic scored two goals, and Riccardo Pepi added a third for the US. The match featured scuffles and brawls, with objects thrown from the stands.
The referee blew the full-time whistle early due to the chaos. Both teams received red cards, and fans were warned about the potential suspension of the game.
Concacaf strongly condemned the discriminatory chanting, and the Mexican Football Federation has faced fines in the past for similar behavior.
