In recognition of the efforts by the management of reigning NPFL champions, Rangers International FC, ably led by Barrister Amobi Ezeaku, to actualize a strategic plan for community social impact, the United Nations agency, Football For The Goals (FFTG), has extended its membership to the club.
In a letter endorsed by Maher Nasser, Director of the Outreach Division at the Department of Global Communications, the global body congratulated the Enugu-based club for its desire to join the United Nations initiative, Football for the Goals, as the club commits to advocating for and implementing policies aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
"As a member of FFTG, Rangers International Football Club, Enugu, now has access to defined resources, content, and specialized expertise within the United Nations (UN), as well as the opportunity to collaborate with fellow football stakeholders through convenings, discussions, and events," stated part of the document.
The G.M./CEO of Rangers, Amobi Ezeaku Esq., reacting to the development, said, “This is a significant achievement, as it is no small feat to be recognized by a global body like the United Nations.
"It strengthens our resolve to positively impact people’s lives through football. With this recognition, we are further empowered to pursue our strategic plans, and we are determined to ensure that our club, Rangers International FC, becomes a champion for sustainable development and human rights, driving positive change within the football community and beyond.”
