2024/2025 NPFL Match Day 9: Under Fire Lobi Stars coach, Amokachi, wins first home game against Bayelsa United

Lobi Stars FC of Makurdi recorded their first win under new manager Daniel Amokachi with a 2-1 victory over Bayelsa United at the Lafia City Stadium on Monday night.


Ossy Martins scored both goals for the Makurdi club, bringing his tally to five goals for Lobi Stars this season.

Ibrahim Mustapha netted Bayelsa United’s only goal of the game.


Prior to this win, the Alia Boys had yet to secure any home victory in their adopted home in Lafia.


Due to a series of uninspiring performances and a winless streak, the Lobi Stars management dismissed former coach Eugene Agagbe and replaced him with former Super Eagles striker Dan "The Bull" Amokachi. However, the club's situation initially failed to improve as they went on to play three winless matches.


Monday night brought relief as Amokachi finally secured his first win against the visiting Prosperity Boys in the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Match Day 9.
